Rescue Intake Rules & Regulations

At Pawsitively Posh Pet Rescue, our mission is to help animals in need while operating solely through donations, volunteer support, and community kindness. In order to continue helping as many animals as possible, we must have clear intake guidelines and limitations.

Owner Relinquishment Policy

We do not accept owner surrenders unless the animal meets the following requirements:

• Spayed or neutered

• Up to date on vaccinations

• Free of contagious illness to the best of the owner’s knowledge

This policy helps us reduce overcrowding, prevent disease transmission, and ensure our limited resources are used responsibly.

Intake Donation Requirement

A minimum intake donation of $50 per animal is required for all accepted owner relinquishments.

As a nonprofit rescue operating without consistent funding, every dollar goes directly toward:

• Veterinary care

• Food and supplies

• Housing and enrichment

• Grooming and rehabilitation

• Emergency medical expenses

We rely entirely on donations and community support to continue saving lives.

Breed & Species Restrictions

At this time, we are unable to accept:

• Pit Bull-type breeds

• Cats

This decision is not made lightly. Due to space limitations, long-term placement challenges, and current overcrowding, we must focus our resources where we can responsibly provide care and successful placement opportunities.

Intake Is Not Guaranteed

Submission of an intake request does not guarantee acceptance into our rescue program. All intakes are evaluated based on:

• Available space

• Available foster or adopter placement

• Medical and behavioral needs

• Current rescue capacity

Emergency Situations

If you are facing an emergency and we are unable to assist, we encourage you to:

• Contact local shelters and other local rescues

• Reach out to breed-specific rescues

• Utilize community rehoming resources responsibly

• Ensure animals are kept safe and cared for while placement is being sought

We understand surrendering an animal is often a difficult and emotional decision. Our goal is to help responsibly while protecting the animals already in our care and preventing further overcrowding.
