She was diagnosed as with heartworm disease, and just completed her treatment. Despite this, Sophia remains incredibly loving, calm, and trusting. She takes everything in stride and just wants to be close to her people, soaking up all the affection she can get.

Brownie’s journey to Pawsitively Posh began in a way no dog deserves. He was found by a friend of our resort after being thrown from a vehicle in Greene County. Despite what he had just experienced, Brownie followed his rescuer, happily jumped into his truck, and was more than ready to escape the blazing summer heat.

When no owner came forward and no one was able to give him a permanent home, we knew Brownie deserved a safe place to land—so he became part of the Pawsitively Posh family.

Much to our delight, Brownie quickly showed us just how friendly and full of life he truly is! He was eager to meet other dogs and has even joined our daycare crew, where he enjoys making new four-legged friends. He’s also a big fan of his human companions and loves soaking up attention from our team.

Banjo is a sweet Beagle boy who has been lovingly cared for by the Greene County Animal Coalition for several months. When the Coalition reached out to us for help finding him a forever home, we were thrilled to welcome him into rescue. This sweet Husky was found at Animal Control, dangerously close to euthanasia. When we heard he had a sponsor, we knew we had to step in and give him the second chance he deserved.

When Opie arrived, he was in heartbreaking condition — severely matted to the skin, and clearly neglected. We got right to work helping him feel comfortable and safe again. Unfortunately, some areas had to be shaved, which is never ideal for a Husky’s coat, but it was necessary to relieve his pain and start fresh. We also learned Opie is Heartworm Positive, so we have partnered with our veterinarian to get him on the best road to recovery!

Now, Opie is finally able to rest, eat, and begin healing. He’s already showing us glimpses of the sweet, resilient spirit beneath all that hardship. With time, care, and love, we know he’s going to shine again — just like the beautiful Husky he was always meant to be!

Zara's story is one of resilience, second chances, and learning to trust again.

Before coming to Pawsitively Posh Pet Rescue, Zara spent her days roaming the Sulphur Springs area as a stray. Despite the efforts of local residents and animal welfare agencies, no one had been able to safely bring her to safety. Thankfully, one kind-hearted Good Samaritan refused to give up on her. They provided Zara with food, fresh water, and shelter in their barn while searching for someone who could help.

When we received the call, we knew we couldn't say no.

Kayla and Robin made the trip to meet Zara, and with the help of the Good Samaritan, they were able to quietly approach her while she was sleeping and safely bring her into our care. Once she arrived at Pawsitively Posh Pet Rescue, Dr. Matt performed a thorough examination to make sure she was healthy and to begin the next chapter of her journey.

Although Zara arrived thin, frightened, and unsure of people, it didn't take long for her to discover what love feels like. After a warm bath, a full belly, gentle belly rubs, and endless compassion from our team, her walls slowly began to come down. Day by day, the scared little stray blossomed into the affectionate, gentle giant she is today.

Now, Zara greets our staff with a wagging tail, happily leans in for attention, and reminds us every day why rescue work is so rewarding. Watching her learn to trust again has been nothing short of incredible.

We are forever grateful to everyone who played a role in saving Zara's life—especially the Good Samaritan who never stopped believing she deserved a chance.

Luna joined the Pawsitively Posh family in May 2026 after her owner became physically unable to care for her. Clyde came to us from Animal Control in heartbreaking condition—severely affected by mange, scared beyond words, and completely unsure of the world around him. He had clearly endured a lot, and at first, even kindness felt unfamiliar and frightening to him.

We took things slowly with Clyde, meeting him exactly where he was. With patience, gentle care, and consistent love, we began to see small changes—a softer gaze, a hesitant step forward, a moment of trust that lasted just a little longer each day. His healing wasn’t instant, but it was steady and real.

Today, Clyde is unrecognizable in the best possible way. His coat is healing beautifully, his confidence has grown, and the fear that once defined him has been replaced with curiosity, comfort, and trust. He has become a very sweet boy who now seeks affection instead of avoiding it.

Shadow was relinquished by his owners to a local veterinary clinic. The veterinary clinic reached out to us for help, and we immediately realized how much Shadow needed us.

Charlie’s story is one that reminds us how sometimes love means making an impossible decision.

Charlie came from a family that loved him very much, but they had reached a heartbreaking point where they could no longer afford the insulin he needed to manage his diabetes. Wanting what was best for him, they made the difficult choice to surrender him to Animal Medical Center, hoping someone there could help him find the care he needed.

The team at AMC cared about Charlie deeply, but they knew his situation would not be simple. A diabetic dog needs lifelong medical management, routine insulin, and a family prepared for the financial and emotional commitment that comes with it. Unsure of what the next step should be, they reached out to us because they knew we had a rescue and might be able to help.

We were torn.

We knew we wanted to say yes because Charlie deserved every chance at a better life, but we also knew that finding the right home for a diabetic dog can be incredibly difficult. Charlie needed more than just rescue — he needed a family fully prepared to give him the care he will need for the rest of his life.

That is when we reached out to our friend Amanda and simply said,
“Please help.”

And she did.

Amanda stepped in and helped connect us with a rescue in the New England states that understood dogs with medical needs and could help Charlie find the perfect placement. Because of that connection, Charlie is now safe, receiving the care he needs, and waiting for the loving forever home he deserves.

Charlie’s story is proof that rescue is not always about doing everything alone.
Sometimes rescue means knowing when to ask for help.
And sometimes, that help changes everything.

Now all Charlie needs is someone willing to open their heart to a dog who still has so much love left to give.

Milo Dean's story is one of second chances, resilience, and finally finding the family he was always meant to have. 🐾❤️

Milo Dean's journey has not been an easy one. As a young dog, he was surrendered to animal control after being accused of chasing and harming farm animals where he lived. From there, Milo spent time waiting for someone to see past the circumstances and recognize the loving, playful dog underneath.

After spending some time in animal control Milo finally got his chance at a new beginning. He was adopted, but unfortunately, his happiness was short-lived. Milo was returned after an incident where his playful curiosity got the best of him—he knocked a photo off the wall while trying to investigate a mounted squirrel tail that caught his attention. What some saw as a problem, we see as a reminder that Milo is an energetic, curious dog who needs a family willing to understand and embrace his personality.

Now Milo Dean is with us, and we are getting to know the amazing dog he truly is.

Milo is a big-hearted boy with a BIG personality! He is playful, energetic, and always ready for fun. He loves attention, gives the best hugs, and has a heart full of love to share. Princess is a sweet senior Chihuahua with a story that touched our hearts long before she ever came into our care. She was once a beloved patient at the veterinary hospital where our founder, Robin, worked for many years. When Princess's devoted owner passed away, her world changed overnight.

She was taken in by family members who ensured she had food and water, but as health concerns arose, Princess found herself living outside on the porch. For a little dog who is terrified of loud noises, thunderstorms, and fireworks, we knew that was no place for her to spend her golden years. We couldn't stand the thought of her facing those fears alone, so we welcomed her into the safety and love of Pawsitively Posh Pet Rescue.

The good news came quickly. Dr. Megan gave Princess a thorough examination, and her bloodwork came back beautifully. Aside from needing a much-needed dental procedure to relieve the pain she's been quietly enduring, Princess is doing remarkably well for her age.

Our next goal is raising the funds to provide her with the dental care she deserves. Once she's feeling her very best, we'll begin the search for the perfect forever family—a peaceful, loving home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by comfort, security, and endless affection.
