Kiara is one of our 15 Lion King-themed rescues! This group came from a hoarding/neglect case in Greene County during the heat of Summer 2025. With no access to clean water or food, our staff began collecting food donations and feeding these 15 daily.

Greene County Animal Control conducted a thorough investigation, then took in all 15 dogs. Once they were able to be pulled, our Officer friend reached out to us! It took us two long days & nights to bathe, remove all the fleas & ticks, and show these pups what love and safety felt like.

Nearly a year ago, Misty’s owner passed away and she did not have any other family who was able to properly care for her. We agreed to keep Misty to save her from euthanasia, as there was nothing medically wrong with her.

This sweet Husky was found at Animal Control, dangerously close to euthanasia. When we heard he had a sponsor, we knew we had to step in and give him the second chance he deserved.

When Opie arrived, he was in heartbreaking condition — severely matted to the skin, and clearly neglected. We got right to work helping him feel comfortable and safe again. Unfortunately, some areas had to be shaved, which is never ideal for a Husky’s coat, but it was necessary to relieve his pain and start fresh. We also learned Opie is Heartworm Positive, so we have partnered with our veterinarian to get him on the best road to recovery!

Now, Opie is finally able to rest, eat, and begin healing. He’s already showing us glimpses of the sweet, resilient spirit beneath all that hardship. With time, care, and love, we know he’s going to shine again — just like the beautiful Husky he was always meant to be!

Snickers was brought to us after a Good Samaritan witnessed her being thrown out of a car. Emerald came into our rescue as an owner relinquishment, and from the very beginning, we knew that with his striking looks and charming personality, he would have no trouble capturing hearts. During the short time we were fortunate enough to care for Emerald, our staff and volunteers grew incredibly fond of him. He loved playing with the other rescue dogs and formed a special friendship with our sweet Ellie.

Once again, our rescue partner Amanda worked her networking magic and successfully paired Emerald with the perfect rescue group up north, setting him on the path to his next chapter. Sarafina is another sweet soul from our recent intake of 15. We believe that Sarafina is the oldest pup of Sarabi’s, and she is one of the sweetest as well!

When we brought Sarafina into the rescue, she required an extensive amount of work to remove hundreds of ticks and then she received multiple medicated baths to soothe her skin. She also required antibiotics to heal the skin infection she had.

After a wonderful adopter came forward for our girl, we had zero hesitations about allowing her to leave our rescue. Sarafina, now named Xena, will have the best life with Meghan!! We are thrilled to know she will be showered with love for all her days!

2 Chainz came to us as a temporary foster for a close rescue friend of ours. When we picked him up from Rocky Top Veterinary Hospital, it was clear he was a lovebug — adorned with two chains making his name very appropriate!!

This sweet boy looks big and maybe even a bit scary to some, but he is afraid of his own shadow! He attached himself to our staff & rescue volunteers, and captured all of our hearts! 2 Chainz enjoys walks, car rides, extra treats, and belly rubs!

The sweet man who found this boy was finally able to come back and get him, and is excited to offer a permanent home for our beloved pup! We are hopeful they will create many amazing memories together, and fill each other’s days with love and adventures!

Claire & her momma Jacqulyn come to our resort often! Their pup, Hudson, is one of our most beloved guests! A while back, Claire mentioned that she'd like to have a gray kitten, so she met all of our adoptable cats. Without hesitation, she picked Strawberry (now named Smokey) and has been very eager to adopt him!

Claire took this process very seriously, asked questions, and even filled out her own adoption paperwork! The love between Claire & Smokey is undeniable! Look at these sweet pictures & see for yourself!!

Sweet Horace originally came to us as a foster for another rescue — but it didn’t take long for him to completely steal our hearts. From the start, he needed a lot of TLC, and for a while, we were so worried when our vet discovered what looked like a large mass around his liver and spleen. After further testing, we received the best news — there was no mass at all! Cue the happy tears! Horace does have a condition known as Inflammatory Bowel Disease, so he is on a special diet and thriving!

Today, Horace is living his best life with Robin and Drew, alongside his furry friends Pearl, Duke, and Buck. He’s spoiled rotten (just the way we like it!) and thriving in his forever home. Horace has truly been given a second chance at life — and we couldn’t be happier for this sweet boy.

Trooper was found, with injuries, during Hurricane Helene. He was brought to us by a resort client after being seen by a local veterinarian for his injuries. Since then, he has made a miraculous transformation! He is fully healed, socialized with other pups, and enjoyed being a part of our resort daycare!

Trooper loves being spoiled, loves milk bones dipped in creamy butter, enjoys afternoon naps on his elevated bed, and thinks every human is his best friend!

A wonderful familiy came to meet our rescues and had an immediate bond with Trooper. We were in awe, and so thankful that someone else could love our Trooper man the way we love him!

We received call from a client/friend asking for help. Her Grandmother had been attempting to care for these two dogs who had been dumped at her home. Aslan has been a regular at our resort since he was young! We have enjoyed having him for baths, daycare, and boarding often! Recently, unfortunately, his owners were unable to care for him (and his housemate, Aurora) and relinquished them to Animal Control. Piper was a patient at one of our veterinary partner’s hospitals. Her owners were unable to adequately care for her & her arthritis, so they elected to euthanize. A rescue partner stepped up to save her, and we are housing her in the meantime.

Willow came to us after one of our clients picked her up off the street. We are told that someone threw this sweet girl out of their car and took off, so we are super thankful for our clients stepping up to help her!

Once she was brought to us, our veterinarian was able to assess her and estimate that she is approximately six months old. Loaded with intestinal parasites and very thin, we began nursing Willow to health. She enjoying all the attention our staff is able to give her, and it has been an absolute joy to watch her flourish!

Buck was found wandering in a heavy-traffic area of the Erwin Highway. The good samaritan who picked him up had a mutual friend of Robin, and that friend didn’t hesitate to reach out!

Buck was brought to our resort & was very clearly in need of veterinary care. This older pup was still intact, had large masses, and needed love. After receiving all the care he needed, he was ready to be adopted! A sweet family, and customers of our resort, decided to take Buck home. However, after a few weeks, they didn’t feel that Buck was happy & they returned him to our resort. Due to his age, Robin decided he needed a constant in his life and to fully enjoy being the couch potato that he is, so she took him home!
Buck now spends his days with his canine siblings: Duke, Hershey, and Pearl! He is usually at the resort during business hours, waiting for our staff to sneak him an extra treat, then he returns home with his family!

Gilbert was found near Rheatown Store, and then brought to us by a good samaritan. Because he did not have a microchip to help us locate the owner, he was posted on social media and kept for a 10-day stray hold. Once the stray hold was up, we had the perfect owner step up and show interest in him! We were able to groom this sweet boy, get him fully vetted, and then allow the new owner to take him home!
Gilbert now spends his days with his new momma, Lori; and his canine brother, Henry. We are so thankful this precious boy will have the beautiful life he deserves!

Scruffy came to us from an overpopulated home. It was hard to tell exactly what he looked like due to the lack of grooming and care he had received prior. After enjoying a warm bath, a haircut, a trip to our vet for basic care and a follow up dental cleaning, Scruffy was like a new dog! He quickly made friends with our staff, and enjoyed all the love and amenities our resort had to offer!
Our rescue partner in New Jersey was able to find the perfect adopter for this sweet boy, and he now has the perfect family of his own! We receive regular updates from the rescue & from his new family, and we wish Scruffy a long life, full of all the things he loves!

Robin had taken care of Pearl at her previous veterinary hospital, and had formed a relationship with both Pearl and her owners. In November 2023, just before the resort opened for business, Pearl’s owners asked if Robin could help them as their health was declining.
For the first several months of our resort being open, Pearl was our resident greeter! She enjoyed playing with our Daycare guests and meeting our clients. In the Fall of 2024, Pearl started showing signs of stress and began having some medical issues of her own. After extensive veterinary care, it was determined Pearl needed to be at home where she could rest and heal.
Pearl now spends her days in the home of Drew and Robin, along with her canine siblings: Duke, Buck, and Horace! Although she comes to visit the resort from time to time, Pearl is thriving in her new home!

These two came to us, in a litter of five, at approximately one day old. One of our clients found them under her camper the day she was leaving for vacation. With no mother in sight, our client was frantic but reached out to us for help! Cara stepped up, taking the litter of kittens everywhere she went, bottle feeding them, and giving them as much love as possible. Unfortunately, we lost three of the five during those crucial development months, but these two thrived!

Once they were old enough to eat on their own, Corrie decided her family needed a cat! She & her family took Maverick and he immediately bonded with Corrie’s youngest son! A few days later, the family decided to take Goose as well so the two siblings could stay together for life!

Fritz came to us early in our rescue journey as an owner relinquish after his previous family could no longer care for him. We were happy to step in — and even happier when the perfect family came along!

The moment Maxi and Greg met Fritz, they knew he was meant to be theirs. He now has a miniature Schnauzer sister, Agnes, who quickly became his best friend and partner in play.

These two pups found themselves at Greene County Animal Control at a very young age. A fellow rescue group in Georgia reached out to us and wanted to partner to save these babies’ lives.

We picked them up, set them up in our Quarantine area, and began spoiling them - just like they deserved! After receiving all necessary veterinary care, these two made the trip to Georgia to their new rescue! They have since been adopted to loving homes, and are thriving!

Sammy came to us as a temporary foster through one of our rescue partners. He had just been neutered prior to arriving at our resort and unfortunately experienced a suture reaction that resulted in an open wound at his incision site. Our team monitored him closely, kept him as calm as possible during his recovery, and ensured he received attentive care throughout the healing process. Thankfully, there were no visible issues once he had healed.

During his stay, Sammy formed a special bond with Bryce, as you can see in the photo above. Although we only had the pleasure of caring for Sammy for a few short weeks before his forever home was ready up north, we truly cherished being a small part of his journey.

Sammy’s high energy, sweet personality, and loving spirit left a lasting impression on us. We will remember him fondly and wish him nothing but the absolute best that life has to offer in his new home.

Colby came to us from Greene County Animal Control as one of our very first temporary fosters for a partnering rescue. When he arrived, Colby was filthy, underweight, and understandably timid. He enjoyed all the comforts we could offer, including an elevated bed, cozy blankets, extra treats, and multiple small meals each day to help him safely regain weight.

Once Colby was healthy enough to travel, he made his journey to the rescue in North Carolina, where he ultimately found his forever home.

Colby played a pivotal role in shaping our understanding of rescue work, and much of what we do today is in honor of him. We are incredibly grateful to have been a small part of his journey and always love receiving updates on Colby and his continued adventures.
